Pharmaceutics help in training the students in drug formulations like tablets, capsules, parenteral, ointments, creams, eye drops, syrups, etc. Different aspects of filling, packing, sealing, and labeling are studied by the students. Various practical aspects of Pharmaceutics like Physical Pharmacy, Unit Operation, Dispensing Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biopharmaceutics, Community Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Engineering, etc. are taught to the students. Main areas of research in the department of pharmaceutics include \u2013Novel drug delivery systems (Polymeric & lipid based nano systems), ocular drug delivery systems, transdermal drug delivery system, mucoadhesive drug delivery system and use of bio- polymers for NDDS. Machine Room equipped with all the modern equipment and instruments related to the production and in-house quality control of tablets, capsules, liquids and injectables. Equipment available: Tablet Punching machine, Double cone blender, Tray drier, Brook field Viscometer, Filter press, Disintegration apparatus, Tablet coating machine, Fluidized bed drier, Capsule filling machine, Ointment filling & sealing machine, Ampoule sealing machine, Tablet Hardness tester, IR moisture balance, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pharmacology the branch of medicine concerned with the uses, effects and mode of action of drug. Pharmacology department contains subjects like Anatomy, Physiology & Pathophysiology, Pharmacology & Toxicology. Students are given facilities to understand different systems of Human Anatomy & their functions & pathology with tools like models, charts, permanent slides, bones, skeletons, etc. Here students learn about general pharmacology, drug dose, mechanism of action of drugs, screening of drugs, etc. Pharmacology Labs are well equipped with Rotarod, Pole Climbing Apparatus, onvulsiometer etc. & Computer software for the basic demonstration of Pharmacology experiments is provided.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pharmacognosy department concerned with medicinal drugs obtained from plants or other natural sources. In this department students will train about chemical constituents, extraction & evolution of herbal constituents of medicinal plants. The Pharmacognosy Lab is equipped with Autoclaves, Phase contrast microscope, Binocular microscope, 3D transmission electronic and scanning electronic microscope, Soxhlet apparatus, TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography) apparatus with chamber, Microtome Blade, Clevenger apparatus, Hot air oven, Muffle furnace, Camera lucida etc. The primary objective of this lab is to provide practical exposure to Undergraduates and Research Students on different isolation and extraction techniques, to check the contamination as well as adulteration of crude drugs. Separation and purification of active constituents by different chromatography etc. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department is equipped with state of art facilities providing hands on experience to Pharma graduates. To meet the global needs in the area of chemistry, we shape our students by exposing them to the skill based practical involving qualitative analysis, pharmaceutical synthesis, organic synthesis and pharmaceutical analysis of drugs and excipients. Various subjects like Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Instrumental Methods of Analysis, Advanced Instrumentation Techniques, Computer Aided Drug Design, Quality Assurance, etc are being taught during the curriculum through Pharmaceutical Chemistry department. The departmental infrastructure comprises well maintained laboratories and sophisticated equipment like \u2018HPLC\u2019, \u2018UV- spectrophotometer\u2019, \u2018Microwave synthesizer\u2019, \u2018Deep freezer\u2019 etc for chemistry research.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
